Despite Assassin’s Creed being almost 1 year old, many gamers are still playing it. I found this list online: You know you play too much Assassin’s Creed if:
1. You avoid the homeless thinking that they will either get in your way our violently attack you.
2. You attempt to run up walls to avoid the cops.
3. You walk slowly in a praying stance when cops look suspiciously at you.
4. You sit 40ft away from someone attempting to eavesdrop on them.
5. If you avoid water because you fear instant death.
6. When someone pisses you off you make a fast hand motion and hold your hands to their neck waiting for the hidden blade to come out.
7. You fear running in public because the cops might attack you.
8. You find the phrase “nothing is true all is permitted” becoming part of your daily speech.
9. You search your home town for hidden flags and templars.
A lot of people complain about the long cutscenes in Assassin’s Creed. For your first time through, it’s great watching them.. but if you’re playing for a second time it might be nice to skip them. Ubisoft didn’t include a feature to do this, but luckily there is a glitch to solve our problems! Check it out:
1) Before locking onto the person you want to talk to, back up a little so you can jump towards him.
2) Hold high profile button and jump towards the person.
3) While jumping, quickly press lock on, so the person starts talking while you’re jumping.
4) you’ll jump into the person, so he’ll lose his balance and stops talking, so you’ll start or complete the mission but you skipped the dialogue.
This trick works with:
-the saved citizens
-flag challenge, merchant stand challenge, assassination challenge, rooftop race challenge, archer stealth assassination challenge and assassin escort, both at the beginning of the mission and at the end of the mission.
If you have any problems getting it to work, let me know.
I remember when Assassin’s Creed was launched back in November 2007 we were told that the single player campaign would last about 40 hours. Well, anyone who has played Assassin’s Creed to the end knows that it only takes about half that time to finish it.
So my question to you today is, should there be an Assassin’s Creed sequel, would you rather it have a longer single player campaign or having some multiplayer aspect to it. The key is to add something to this game to make it last longer.
Some fans enjoy single player games. Maybe they don’t have internet hookup to get online and play? Or maybe there just aren’t any solid multiplayer ideas? While other fans could care less about a single player game and only go after multiplayer modes. That’s how I was with Gears of War. I never played more then 10 minutes of the single player game, but played hours online.
So what would you choose? Post a comment and let me know.
Another website I own, www.masseffectforum.com, is giving away a free copy of Assassin’s Creed on Xbox 360. If you’re a fan of Assassin’s Creed and just haven’t had the time or money to purchase it yet, this is your perfect opportunity to get it for free!
The contest is open to all forum members (if you aren’t a member yet, you can register for free). To enter the contest all you need to do is post 10 times on the forum. That’s it! Complete that task and you could win a free copy of Assassin’s Creed. Get your hands on the game I’ve been talking about for over a year!
Even if you already own it, you can still win the game and sell it on eBay or give it to a friend!
Sony recently announced their new Playstation 3 Greatest Hits games. Among the 10 games now available for only $29.99 is Assassin’s Creed. So now there is no excuse for you not to pick this game up with you’re a PS3 owner. It will give you hours and hours of gameplay that won’t leave you disappointed. The storyline is something you would see out of an Oscar-nominated movie.
With this move, I expect Microsoft to do the same thing in the coming weeks.
There really hasn’t been much else coming out about Assassin’s Creed over the past few weeks (or months). We’re just patiently waiting for Ubisoft to give us something!
The video game expo E3 has all but come and gone. After several days of conferences and new game demos, fans of Assassin’s Creed were left with nothing. Though we really couldn’t expect to see any news on our game, there was that small glimmer of hope that we might see something about possible Downloadable Content or perhaps even an Assassin’s Creed 2 Teaser. E3 would have been the perfect platform to hype an upcoming sequel.
We know the game is in development, it’s just that Ubisoft has said that they are in no rush to release the sequel. The lack of Assassin’s Creed news at E3 confirms this. Fans don’t always get what they want. Look how long it took Blizzard to make Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2. I really hope we don’t have to wait that long for Assassin’s Creed 2.
This is one of the hardest assassination missions in the game. You can spend a couple hours doing this and still come up short. There will be wave after wave of foes before you finally reach the real Robert de Sable. Unfortunately, there is no way around it. You must fight, and you must win.
I’ve read one suggestion online that says:
The easiest thing to do is get out the hidden blade and counter one of them.
Although it is difficult and the timing is strict, once you nail one of them at least one of the other guards should back away in fear, letting you simply jump onto him with the wrist blade.
For every kill one of the guards should react like this, so you can easily combo most of the guards down using this little tactic…
I’ve read another that recommends you fight, then just keep running in circles until your health regenerates.
If you’re still having trouble, check out this video below. It may give you a better idea of how to accomplish this mission.
Lucy Stillman, of Assassin’s Creed, is a scientist working for Abstergo Industries. She helps Dr. Vidic in the research of Altair. She is modelled after and voiced by Kristen Bell.
Not much is known about Lucy’s at the start of the game, although it can be assumed that she is not as cold hearted a person as Dr. Vidic is. She frequently stops Desmond from using the Animus for prolonged periods of time, because she says it can strain the body severely if used for too long. She is also generally warmer in personality than Dr. Vidic and is generally nicer to Desmond, allowing him a bit more freedom than Dr. Vidic Does, even to the point of allowing him to use her computer once.
Ubisoft, the creator’s of Assassin’s Creed, modelled Lucy almost identically to Kristen Bell. Take a look at the hair and beauty marks. I mean, the real version of her is way hotter then the pixellated one, but still I think they did an awesome job.
It’s a very interesting question. Most evolving games nowadays have lifelike time in which we see day and night as the game progresses. So why did the makers of Assassin’s Creed not include any night time missions?
I can think of a few reasons, although I’m not sure if any of them were considered by Ubisoft. For one, during the middle ages, citizens rarely ventured outside once the sun went down. It was too dangerous and people went to bed really early back then. Another reason Ubisoft may have excluded night time from Assassin’s Creed is because the assassination missions in cities were meant to be public. They wanted to kill to be seen.
Sure roaming around at night time and being stealth-like would be cool at times, but it’s not how this game was meant to be played. Altair was meant to kill important people in front of everyone.
You know you’ve found a true Assassin’s Creed fan when you see someone with a tatto paying homage to the game. The logo for the game is badass, but I’m not sure if I’d be daring enough to etch it in ink on my body and have it remain there for all of eternity. Anyways, some fans just like to go all out. So check out these Assassin’s Creed tattoos.
A lot of gamers are also into design. While making sigs isn’t extremely tough, it requires more photoshop skills then I have. Posted below are several cool Assassins Creed sigs that I’ve seen on forums. I didn’t make them and I don’t claim to own them. If one of them is yours and you want it removed, then just email me.
Why is it a crime in the Assassins Creed world to ride a horse in the open space? The second you get on a horse and gallop around some guards they immediately yell “Kill the Assassin!”
Don’t you think that Altair should be able to ride around on a horse without getting harassed by the guards. It makes the game annoying. I just want to be able to travel from city to city in as little time possible. I don’t want to have to slow my horse down every minute because there is a group of guards.
I was browsing some Assassin’s Creed forums and came across a post that was a major gripe about the stealth mode in Assassin’s Creed. Basically the gamer was upset that stealth mode wasn’t stealthy enough and that you can pretty much do anything without being caught. I’ll let you read it for yourself. Let me know what you think.
You’d think the company who made Splinter Cell would know SOMETHING about stealth games. The stealth (a major part of assassination in my mind) in this game was a joke. The “suspicious guards” didnt care that i was climbing walls at all, which was what I hear ubisoft claim. “you need to hide in the crowd, and do socially acceptable things.” Even those darn lepers pushing you into the guards never mattered. I can assassinate a guard in the middle of 5 other ones and no one notices until i kill 2 more.
I really think the “social stealth” idea was awesome. But as it turns out… you walk into a group of scholars, press A, and so long as you dont kill anyone in front of a guard you can call it good. Make the crowds more concealing, so that you can actually hide in them, make the social impact of your actions relevant like you pretend. It wouldve been much cooler. Also I wouldn’t have minded seeing some night mission’s incorporating stealth as well (a reason for the black outfit I want. I actually think the white one is more badass though, i just want choice!).
As far as social acceptability for walking around with 20 knives and 2 swords strapped on your back…. I can’t even say anything.
I wouldve made a weapon selection menu at the beginning of each mission at Masayaf with two meters. One indicating combat ability, the other, social stealth, or suspicion.
You could pick which weapons to bring, including unlockable new ones (ie. the small crossbow, a full long bow, ect.)
The more weapons you bring, the more guards pay attention to you. You are more capable in combat with throwing knives, a bow, and the longsword, but at the same time, your stealth goes down, its much harder to hide in a crowd, ect.
Assassin’s Creed is slated to be released on the Nintendo DS in the United Kingdom this week! Whether or not that release date sticks is anyones guess. Some small things I’ve heard about the DS version are that there aren’t as many assassinations and that the controls are a bit off. But that is to be expected since you can’t copy an 8 button Xbox controller to a DS.
But I know a lot of you are dying to get your hands on this title, so here’s a little video of some DS gameplay.
A lot of people have trouble with the last assassination at the funeral. It’s a tough kill to make and you’ll probably die 5 times just trying to figure things out. So I browsed the Assassin’s Creed forums and took some of the best tips for beating this part of the game. Here they are:
There are many ways. The easiest for me was to just keep attacking everyone until you are lucky enough to kill your target. If you focus on just that specific target then everyone else will kill you.
The archers there are the most annoying…jerks…in the game. I recommend alerting everyone at the funeral, then get them to chase you through the city to a predetermined location where you have a group of vigilantes waiting in ambush. Then, as the vigilantes distract the guards, you can kill ‘em all!
My method was stand in one of the corners that you face at the funeral. The guards won’t be able to attack you from behind and the archers will be able to shoot you less. Then it’s just a case of heavy attacking and countering all the guards until you get to the target. Don’t even bother about getting the archers unless you want the (i think there is one) achievement for killing loads of guards.
It’s a whole lot easier if you take out as many archers as you can -before- the fight. Then, as some of the others said, go get in a corner or near a wall somewhere. There’s a scaffold to the north of the area- get some guards near it and then throw one in to make it collapse and kill as many in one shot as you can (if you didn’t already know of this). Keep countering, and if you see you’ve knocked down ‘Robert,’ quickly switch the hidden blade and try to hit ‘em for a quick finish.
If you can’t beat Assassin’s Creed after this, then get a Game Genie
