Assassin’s Creed 2 was recently nominated for a British Academy of Video Game Awards (BAFTA), in the category of Best Game for 2009. It was up against some stiff competition like Modern Warfare 2, Beatles Rock Band, Wii Sports Resort, Fifa 10 and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Ultimately it was Modern Warfare 2 that came out with the award – there’s no telling which game got second.
Now, I’ve never heard of the BAFTA’s before today… I was just doing some AC2 research online when I found about them. I live in America, so maybe these awards are huge over there and just not as big here? Who knows, maybe someone can comment and let me know.
I play both AC2 and MW2, and while I do agree that MW2 is probably the better overall game, I’m not sure it has a better single player mode. If these awards taken multiplayer modes into account in their voting then it’s no wonder AC2 didn’t win – there is no multiplayer mode! As far as single player is concerned, I’m not sure any of the nominated games has a better experience than Assassin’s Creed 2.
